چکیده
BackgroundObesity has been linked to a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The CVD outcomes appears be stratified by cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF). study's goal was determine the relationship between university students’ Body Mass Index (BMI) and CRF.MethodsBMI anthropometric measurements sedentary male (n = 25) female 18) voluntary physiotherapy students, aged 18–25 years were taken. Pre- post one minute (post1) 5 minutes (post2) six-minute walk test CRF—including respiration rate (breath per minute), oxygen saturation (in percentage), pulse (beat blood pressure (mm Hg) total distance meters) travelled in six (6MWDm) recorded entered into formula: Vo2max −9.824 + (0.072 x 6MWDm).ResultsMales females had median (IQR) values BMI (20.75 22.15 kg/m2) (27.07 24.84 ml/kg/min) respectively. data divided four groups based on body mass index categorization relation Vo2max, with negative coefficients correlation underweight (−0.18), overweight (−0.26), obese (−0.33), positive normal (0.24) individuals. Wilcoxon signed rank revealed post1 post2 readings rate, saturation, systolic significantly than pre (p < 0.05).ConclusionHigh obesity weak cardio respiratory VO2Max indicate necessity regular aerobic activities improve health status among University students.
